All Good Things...

from Your Favorite Spoon by Tony Castellano

/

about

This song was originally titled "All Good Boys" when it appeared on The Bud Collins Trio fall 1988 release 'Watching Channel Zero' and it featured Chris Duers reading a story over the infinitely-repeating-but-nice chord progression, which then turned to soloing and finally the entire track was swallowed up by some ring generator noise. This version (the title for which was conceived several years before it was also used for the final episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation) is less extreme but also features some sound effects at the end, which is meant to sound like a full band jamming away which eventually fades into one guy sitting at home playing guitar while watching TV. The sound effects track was recorded when I lived at the intersection of Pine and Tolland Streets in East Hartford where there was always plenty of traffic noise. This song also contains a hidden bonus track, a dub mix of the title cut's end jam done by Chris Weinland during the original mixing and mastering sessions in 1998.
