Cabin Cruiser

from Your Favorite Spoon by Tony Castellano

/

about

A nice peaceful tune, which sounds good to the ears after the tense and aurally-claustrophobic climax of "Impossible Playmates". This song was written in the summer of 1986 before I had any clue about arranging or constructing songs to be the right length (the demo version was nearly 12 minutes long and included three bridge sections!). The original Bud Collins Trio version appeared on our fall 1987 release 'So long, Mr. RIght Side Up' and featured a stereo sound effects track of gentle sloshing water sounds (recorded at Mansfield Hollow Dam the night before my 22nd birthday).
