Keep Away From Heat

about

In a manner reminiscient of how the purchase of an electric 12-string guitar sparked the creation of the 5-song "Lament Of The Forgotten King" suite, this was the first song written after I bought a Conklin 7-string bass guitar (a superior instrument and a steal at $800). In addition to the traditional bass guitar track, there are also two tracks of higher "rhythm" bass guitars playing the main riff which takes advantage of the extra two high strings. Chris Angeletti, drummer for both Ludent Tremmel's Gno and Magnetar, wrote most of the lyrics for this tune after being provided with the title, which illustrates my preference for cold weather over warm.

lyrics

I stay in my den me and my children they must be careful for they are all snowmen I say keep away from heat all my snowy kin you will tend to melt there in this frozen land living as I planned really seems to work well all we need we have icicle chime and a rhythm clave live in cozy igloos tramp about in snowshoes we keep away from heat and stay out of the sun for it would be no fun if the deadly warming rays were to touch my face that would surely mean the end one summer morning I hear the warning the sun is coming we must start running so we'll keep away from heat for I'm made of wax and I tend to melt well soon we must be leaving beloved winter eden or face the fires of hell in the night we left home in search of a place where a man who hides from the sun can live without fear of coming undone to find another race shine on from outer space and my children can play without melting away to a horrible puddle of death how I pray I can spare them that sunny fate how I pray their carrot nose and eyes of coal shall see another blizzard fall on to the tundra some call Siberia ball helios expands in girth heads on to the earth I yelled keep away from heat heading towards us all biting at our heels now goodbye frozen land I really hope I can lead us on to safety beyond the ozone layer Freon our savior our only hope for life giving temperature he'll dispel the heat with his cooling voice so find him we must try to he will slay the sun each and every one rays of melting torment so they ask of Freon to help them on their race away from the solar on the way to their new home somewhere it's polar help us please make it freeze have no fear my snow children and wax man for the miserable sun's met his match in me and I'll protect you from his heat rest assured you will not be dying while perspiring come with me to a place where the sun will never shine feel the cold see the blessed snow as the battle wages on air conditioning and sun our man of wax and snow children will find their new home.
