Lament Of The Forgotten King Part 3 - Maelstrom

from Keep Away From Heat by Tony Castellano

/

about

Not too much to say. I tried to convey the chaotic sounds of battle for this song in which all the action of the story takes place.

lyrics

the king is just a little young with his foolish trust but I’m the one I’ll take from him his crown and his crest like the dagger I placed in the last one’s chest dear king the battle rages on we’ve flanked them with our five thousand strong but sire there’s hordes at the northern border should we send more troops there just give the order trust sire that’s just the way it’s done we need to push back if the battle’s to be won split forces half north and half to east to hold off this great enormous beast why should we split up the fight I don’t know but it just doesn’t seem right when I was on your father’s right we pushed the forces with all our men and might he trusted in my warrior’s intuition to put the men in just the right position if this must be order it so I lack this knowledge but then you all know but should we move move in such haste will it cause more carnage, more human waste sire news not good from the eastern side they’ve turned back and pushed with a mighty stride many brave have fallen dead from the saddle our last reserves now must take to the battle I’m sure once this move this move is done the battle in the eastern sector will be won in war tides turn just like a top we can’t just wait for it to stop but what of the north bring back the men they’re idly waiting for some war to begin my liege we must follow warlike tactics these men we fight are wartorn fanatics we’ll turn them back push them to the border remember you’re the one who gives the orders why is this falling apart I took your advice right from the start I do what you say but we’re losing this fight they’re getting closer they’ll be here by daylight my mind keeps on spinning with great indecisions what should I do to survive this collision the fight is coming right to our wall my king I’ve seen our most mighty fall we must make haste sire to talk a truce to pull our heads from this tightened noose to end this futile conflagration they’re calling out for your abdication they want to prop up a figurehead while they hold all power in your stead why must I give up my throne why does it seem that I’m all alone wait sire there is but one course to take a ship waits to aid in your escape this is your last option to survive I’ll send for you when the time is right how did we all lose our way we put faith in God but he led us astray it sickens my heart this shameful retreat so unlike my father this scapegoat retreats my mind keeps on spinning with great indecisions what can I do to escape this collision
